I offer flute and piano lessons, both in-person or online. I am happy to teach both adults and children from beginner to advanced.
My aim is to help you to fulfill your musical goals, whether they be to pass an exam, prepare for a performance or simply to learn a new skill. I believe that excellence in music-making is worth striving for and so I am keen for you to get a thorough grounding in technique, breathing and music knowledge. I look for regular opportunities for you to share your music with others.
I graduated with a BMus, have an LTCL flute diploma, a PGCE and an MA in music performance. I am an experienced teacher and classical chamber music performer. I am a member of the British Flute Society and Musicians Union and have performed throughout the UK and Europe.
I also offer lessons in music theory and provide extra tuition in GCSE and A’level.
I am also available to accompany you on the piano at your exams and performances.

Charles Sugden
I have for many years taught cello, flute and class music. After receiving a music scholarship at Radley College, I studied history at Cambridge followed by PGCE course.
Orchestral experience in Cambridge, Derby and Dorset has combined with extensive solo and chamber music experience with the ensemble ‘Speranza’.
I received a distinction at ATCL Cello, tuition from the BSO’s principal cellist, combined with tuition from a former pupil of Casals. All this has helped make me a joyful, rounded musician.
